Wysteria Question

I love Wysteria. I live in Tennessee and was thrilled when co-workers gave me a vine to plant last year. It bloomed this year for the first time as you see in the photo. My question is are there different varieties of Wysteria? This one does not smell very good. Kinda like cat pee. A lady down the road from me has a Wysteria and hers have long flowing flowers and they smell so good! Mine are kind of sparse and small. I asked her what kind hers was and she didn't know - only that it came from Florida. Anyone know what kind she may have that smells so pretty and has large clusters of flowers that hang like grapes?

Your vine almost looks like Snail Vine to me, but I think it is fragrant as well. There are a lot of different Vigna caracalla though, could be one of them. If it came from Florida that could be what you have.

Donna, the Wysteria vine in the picture came from a nursery in Georgia. The nursery did not specify what type of Wysteria it was, that's why I wondered what varieties there are. Mine is not fragrant in a good way...smells a little like cat urine. (laugh)
