This "volunteer" plant blooms pretty white flowers . I have tried digging up the root, etc, but it just comes back. It has also started a couple of other places.

Yep, but no one will like the answer including myself. I have the same problem. My dad always used Seven on his lawn and never had a problem. Seven kills all the bugs which attract the voles. He told me about this several years ago and I cannot bring myself to use the product. Does anyone have any answers besides using Seven?
