Installing flat screen tv above fireplace
I need help mounting flat screen over my fireplace please!
Move the bookcase. It looks out of place. You can purchase or make two cabinets just below the crown molding height on the fireplace. Butt them right up the the sides of the fireplace so they look like built ins (part of the fireplace) for your components. Stain them as close to the fireplace color. Place the speakers on each side of the cabinets. The cabinets should be as narrow as your widest component.
Make sure you like looking up to the TV because if too high you can get a stiff neck. Plus all the extra components and wires are hard to hide. A nice TV cabinet with doors is a good choice to hide all those extras.
We were going to mount our tv above the fireplace, but were told by the salesperson that it may negatively the warranty because the t.v. Would be subjected to high heat. We have a wood burning wood stove insert. And it does put out a lot of heat.
We built a false wall to hide our tv wiring and put the components in the cabinet to the right. We added a remote to turn on the equipment.
Beautiful! Would love to use this, but I don't have the space. Maybe in another room.
You're going to love your new big TV but it will not work above your fireplace. It will most definitely be too high.
Thank you. I agree!
