My opinion a rusty copper color might work against the siding.
I think the shutters and trim need to be painted a teal green. I'd leave the deck brown but trim the doors out in plum
Something similar in colour to Annie Sloan chalk paint French linen would blend into the surroundings nicely and not overpower the house
You can paint some element in the same color.
Deep Burgundy on all your trim, shutters, deck etc.
Thanks for the suggestion, never would have thought of that, but will now consider it!
hi seems like the dark brown was carried throughout - including downspuy an all the facia trim and doors. The house looks very dark and you are surrounded by trees. i would go to the sherwin willians site and yse their color tool that lets you pick house syle and colors for the various parts of your house. This will give you a goid idea how sll these color combinations look before the painting starts.
sorry about the misspellings. downspouts use good are the misspelled words
lowes has 3-color charts for trims and doors Saw this one awhile back. Considering it for my mobile home
I have no idea how to help you but I want to live there!
I think you can't beat the traditional - black roof and white shutters. For the deck I would paint it black with perhaps a white hand rail - so all boring brown white except for some white highlights - white front door etc.
I would paint the house dark brown with light trim and it will blend into the trees around it.
dark green metal roof and trim and a bright yellow door.. It will blend in with the woods.
I think a really dark wine color trim and a beautiful light gray on the shutters, but the trim around the windows in the dark wine. Then the dore I would paint gray. The deck I would paint wine and gray wine on the steps leading up to the deck and the top rail around the deck in wine and the floor should be wine then the rest of the railings below the top railing in gray or you could do every other railing in wine then gray then wine. That would be more work, but so worth it. Be sure you prep your deck the right way before you paint it. I would love to see a natural tin roof put on your home, but metal roofs have gotten so expensive, if you have amish around where you live they do a good job and are a lot cheaper. I forgot to mention when you paint your dore in the wine color paint the trim in gray, that will make your dore pop. Unless there is a problem with the siding I would not paint it, because once you paint it you will have to keep it up. Great lake house, I love it. Please share a picture with us after you paint whatever paint color you choose will be beautiful.
Lovely home is serene setting!
Paint to contrast and showcase the trims or paint to blend should be your first consideration.
If you want to blend then go for a patchy look of green and autumn russet like a sponged effect.
If contrasting the paint a shade of teal or aqua blue - it would blend in but stand out.
Fresh look.
My husband had a client that did his in a dark wine and gray, it was so gorgeous, it was so dark it was almost black, I didn't think I was going to like it, but it was one of the most beautiful color combinations I have ever seen. Your gray roof would be beautiful with any color you go with, gray is such a great neutral color. Good luck and please post a picture of your home after you paint, I can't wait to see it, whatever color you choose it will be beautiful, you can't lose on that beautiful home.
I'd stay in the earth tones. Window trim, shutters, door trim, and roof fascia in olive green, more bright than dark. Leave decks and down spouts brown to save money. It will be eye catching but still fit in with the woods/water. As it kind of looks like a swiss chalet I might place a viking theme ship or sun medallion above the top doors in brown and green also.
I don't think that it looks to bad really. I think it would look a lot better with some landscaping, and some flowers of some sort in pots, ferns, palms etc. It would definitely liven up the house!Add some decrative touches with an other color some were perhaps, clean up the landscape a little. Still a very nice place I think!
Gray almost black roof, charcoal gray or black shutters, trim can be same as shutters and door or color matched to siding. Same for deck - color match to siding to blend in or charcoal gray or black.
