How do you get rid of moles from your yard?
They are destroying my yard.
get rid of the grub worms and the moles will go away hunting for another source of food.
Mix 6 ounces of castor oil with 2 tablespoons of dish soap in 1 gallon of water. Spray your lawn with it periodically, especially after it rains. It's a good mole repellant.
Moth balls
The first time I had this problem I put narrow iron pipes in the ground near their holes and empty glass bottles on top upside down. The wind produced a sound that made them leave. Once this happened I planted euforbia. The moles cant stand its smell, so next year there was none in the garden.
My Suggestion: Gopher Purge...IT DOES WORK...but you MUST know HOW it works...I've done this without fail.
Purchase a Gopher Purge plant, plant it in your flowerbed. Now, go to EACH MOLE HILL, open it so you can see inside, place 1 or 2 LEAVES of the Gopher Purge inside each mole hole & cover it up. Keep a watch out for any mole holes that 'mound up' ...repeat the process...soon your neighbors will be complaining of the moles in their yard. EVERY time you see a mole hill, repeat the process.
Gopher purge will seed & spread if you don't pay attention to it's cycle [the plant will branch out & become top heavy]; remove the seed pods when they mature [they look like small 'bishop caps] & plant them where you want additional plants to grow, dry them for planting at a later time OR share them with friends & neighbors! NOTE: SOME people are allergic to this plant & may have a reaction such as hives or closing of their throat- take precautions! Wear gloves when handling this plant if you think you might have a reaction. Happy Gardening!
find someone with a ferret and collect the poop, place in all the mole holes. Viola no more moles. Tip: moles are so afraid of ferrets they won't come back.
Nancy, I tried moth balls and those little rodents are so arrogant i would find however many i shoved down the hole, sitting on the edge of the hole the next day..Thanks for the suggestion..and i think i am so desperate i will give it another try...thanks again.
We used Castor Beans. There were several plants near by in the field by our house.
If i dont have a field nearby to gather castor beans..where else would I find them..?and thanks for pitching in..
BY the way..i have two little dogs running around my turf..I know they will chew Juicy Fruit..and they will totally disregard moth balls, but will any of the other cures hurt them> Ones a dachshund and the other is a chihuahua...i have used grubex in the past but i cant find any signs of those and usually the dogs dig those up if there are any. I shall try it again also..Thanks all of you..as for a ferret..i dont know any of those..so that poop is out..
Pave your yard. Nothing but concrete or Asphalt.
