You can paint them different colors then put them in a wire basket that goes with your decor
If you have any items you collect like seashells, keys, stones, matchbooks, ceramic insulators, pine cones, etc., you can mix the eggs with these. You could spray paint the eggs and pine cones a light blue, for instance, to give a modern twist to the clear lamp bases or clear glass vases of the 50-80s styles. Whatever you decide, best wishes.
Marble-ize them! You already have a base color that is found in marble...now utilize it. You can use acrylic colors in black, greens, yellow, rust & white. Using a rag, dip it into a color & blotch it onto the egg in patches of color; do that with all the colors EXCEPT the white & rust. once you have the 'basic colors' on your first egg & while the paints are still wet: take a feather & dip the tip into the rust...while holding the feather loosely in your fingers, let it swirl any where it wants to go. When you decide you want to add lines elsewhere, do so by holding the feather more firmly, taking it in the directions you want. Then quickly do the same with the white paint. WHEN you are done adding paint: take a new piece of cloth & 'blotch' the colors together; but don't mix them into one color...let them blurrrrr. Set aside & let it dry while you begin another egg; when all are completed to your liking & are completely dry...put a clear GLOSSY finish on them. ENJOY! GIVE AWAY your faux Marble Eggs or display them!
to hold that egg, you need a 5" piece of dowel rod small as you can get, some GREEN DOP, a piece of styrofoam. melt a small amount of dop in an aluminum cupcake pan on the stove over low heat. dip in one end of the rod, stick it to the egg...dry for a minute or two....plant the rod in the styrofoam. do your project....allow to dry...take the stuck rod and egg and place in the freezer for about an hour and then just snap off the rod and dop...finish the area of your project where the dop was.....tiny pieces of dop can be snapped off with needle nose pliers
Do you have an egg cup? IF not, use the bottom of an egg carton-paint most of the egg [holding the ends to steady it] & finish it once the painted part is dry.
