I've heard of people applying fox urine to keep 'em away. It can be purchased on Amazon. Not sure of the specifics why but it seems to work!

Try feeding them from your pots. Use stale cereal, chips, granola, cookies, nuts, anything like that, that has been sitting around. I have a chipmunk that has a hole at the edge of our driveway and some of our hostas. In doing this I have had damage from them.

I to put plastic forks, tines up in with the plants. It takes a lot of fork. Then also put moth balls and cayenne pepper in the dirt. It seems to take all three to keep them out. They get stabbed by the forks if the jump in.
