2" -3", if you cut too short, it burns the lawn and will most likely never be lush and green as most people prefer. Also lawn should be cut in a different direction each time you mow.
I agree. Also don't mow when it is too wet or it cause your mower to stall. And don't wait until it is too long, this could cause the same problem.
At 3" inches grass is the healthiest and grows the slowest
