How do you get rid of ticks in your yard?

1) Use a repellent - essential oil based, like cedar oil, not a chemical if you can avoid it

2) Ledum Palustre - a homeopathic remedy intended to repel ticks

I use listerine in a garden hose end sprayer, my chow likes to lay under the bushes around the house and I give the bushes a good rinse down without any harmful insecticides.

I have cedar mulch around all planting ...I've heard that repeals ticks...I live in the city and found one on my cat.

I use NaturaLawn of America for this. Heard NBC evening news last week that this summer is predicted to be the worst yet for ticks and Lyme (not Lyme's people) Disease. I know 12 people who have had Lyme Disease, and one young woman's life has been shattered from all the side effects she has had to deal with. Thanks goodness she is improving, and her family helps her out. I never go on grass anymore - too scared.

Do you have White Pines in your yard. Our old vet told us that ticks love white pines. My husband cut them down and now our dog doesn't get a tick but just once in a while.
