try a long handled broom like one that janitors use. You can get them at Home Depot.
floor cleaner and hand held scrub brush. avoid bleach containing products-it will change the grout color. once clean....consider a grout sealant.
i keep the toothbrush I get at the dentist it's free & I use that
We use carpet cleaner. Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping away. If you have a tough spot you can scrub it with any bristled brush and wipe away.
Use sandpaper or a sanding block to lightly sand off the layer of dirt. The key is to sand very lightly so that you aren't removing the grout.
I use a mild acid bowl cleaner (I used this product fromSpartan Chemical ) I used the thin pour top nozzle to do small areas at a time. Wearing gloves, applied to grout lines waited a couple of minutes, scrubbed with a brush and cleaned off with a damp sponge. When finished, gave the whole floor a good damp mopping and not only the grout looked fresh and new but the tiles sparkled!
I'm all about cheap and simple vinger, and baking soda in a paste ordissolved in hot water , Apple cider gives it some light brown color, lemon or oranges work. I put them on the stove let the house smell nice, and then use them in the cleaning process
Try Lysol toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. The nozzle makes it easy to squeeze into the grout lines. Wait 20 minutes and use scrub brush on the grout lines. mop and rinse! Make sure your clothes and shoes are acceptible to be worn while using bleach!
Animals???
Half cup white vinegar 2 spoons of Palmolive dish liquid in a bowl, mix.choose little area to clean at a time (like 8 tiles)now with paper towel just do heavy dapping on the dirty tile joints.leave for 15 min, it should not dry. Use white wet old towel to wipe it just the dirty part, keep on changing the the little part of the towel (because it get really dirty) That's what I did with my tiles.now you compare your dirty and clean tiles. NOT HARD JOB AT ALL BELIEVE ME. ALL THE BEST.
Time consuming job no matter what and not an easy task for older folks like myself. I will save my pennies and hire it done then clean the floor more often to prevent the grout from becoming dirty as quick.
peroxide works GREAT !! I buy it at the Dollar Store...pour it on..let it sit and voila !
GOO GONE GROUT CLEANER WORKS GREAT!
Try it. What have yu got to loose? A dollar?
THEIR ARE SEVERAL GOOD GROUT CLEANERS ON THE MARKET BUT FIRST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT COLOR THE GROUT WAS INITIALLY. MANY TIMES PEOPLE THINK THE GROUT IS DIRTY AND IT IS JUST THE COLOR OF THE GROUT THAT WAS INSTALLED. FIND AN CONSPICUOUS AREA AND DO A LITTLE AREA WITH HOT SOAPY WATER AND MAYBE A LITTLE TSP (TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE) FROM YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE.
JUST TRY TO CATCH ALL THE POSSIBILITIES, GLAD IT HELPS
If you are not in there at the time I would just pour lots and lot of bleach straight ontothe tiles and walk away. Open all the windows and let it air out. Be sure to protect any border area rugs and not let them soak up any bleach. I rented a plce that was filthy and did this it workedgreat. Also the carpets needed to be replaced 10 years ago and we're not so I took a new pesticide sprayer that never had pesticides in it. Filled with water and poured 1.5 cups of bleach in that sprayed the floor a little just enough to dampen the floor don't saturate it then took a huge broom and worked the mixture into carpet. The owner was shocked at how clean the floor was. All for less than $30.00. Worked for me.
It truly might be a different grout color and bleach would not be good if it is. Might need some large mats to cover the appearance as that color might make you feel like it's dirty.
The truest way believe it or not is Comey and a toothbrush. Hard work but works every time
I made a heavy solution of OxyClean and hot water. Used a scrub brush and then let solution remain for 30 minutes. Mopped up with sponge mop. Did the trick
Baking soda and a toothbrush.
Majic trick is toothpaste. I've done it tons of times and it comes out sparkling every time
I made an Oxy Clean paste with water and scrubbed it with a toothbrush. Wiped it off with a damp rag. Cleaned it right up. Forgotten how blue my grout actually was! Then sealed it well.
Make a paste of baking soda and peroxide then apply it to your grout with a toothbrush. Let it sit a little and then remove with a clean cloth.
Hi there, we used to deep clean the grout by hand once a year, a long and painful process. Now we use a drill set on low speed and it made a huge difference. So much quicker and easier on your knees too, Here's a video that will show you how it's done - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flfAc_jMzvM.
