I bought it cheap several years ago and it stays green all year. Fast growing.

It does look like Euonymous but the leaves don't seem glossy enough. Fast growing to how large? Where in the country do you live?

  I live in Missouri and I'd say it has doubled in size just since last year. it has a fairly thick wood trunk and the branches are long and leggy but I'm not sure if its suppose to be that way o pruned into a bush/tree form?

I'm thinking it's a type of Laurel bush.

Yeah. Probably euonymous. It can be pruned any way you like.
