What's the best flower/plant to grow in Texas?
I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
can you post a photo of the tree???
Walnuts. They are usually 4 times that size. My grandfather would lay them out in the driveway and run over them a few times, til the green part was easy to remove. If you do open them, wear gloves, cause they will stain your hands.
It would be good to show leaves from the tree as well as a picture of the tree. It isn't possible to tell just from the outside of the nut casing, opening it would be a good idea.
Whatever they are, I think possibly pecan or walnut, I believe they are quite immature. I know pecans are. Green nuts that become blighted with dark spots fall off the trees before maturing as these have done. When mature & ready for harvest or eating, the outer green shells turn dark brown to black, get dry & split open to release the nut inside which is actually the nut meat in the hard shell you see for sale or under the trees later in the year.
Wish you had included some of the leaves from the tree or a close up shot of a limb with these nuts still on the tree. I could perhaps identify it for you. OR, take what you have to a nursery & they can identify it for you, but I am confident these are immature nuts.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
