What is hubby interested in? If he likes using power tools get him to help with that part of a project maybe, or find a combo you can both do part on. It's tough to have so many fun projects you like to do, but maybe set a time limit for yourself, so you can finish one project but not let yourself start the new one until the first is finished. Sometimes our projects ARE our therapy :) I still have a pumpkin I need to finish a graveyard theme in from October, but life gets in the way, so I know how you feel!
Hello Valerie; "Welcome, come and lay down on the sofa. Tissues are to your left. Now tell me all of our troubles!!!" LOL!!!!
Try asking him, if he would Please help you for just a moment with this project. Tell him that you truly would like to have him help you, as you know that he would be able to accomplish this!!!
Furthermore, what about saying something like Hon, I made your favorite for Supper. Would you please help me do this before we eat?
Projects......Sigh. I have such a boatload of em.....if worse comes to worse, trudge on and get done what you can!!!!
I hope that this helps you!!! Good Luck!!
take your hubby shopping at lowes or home depot and offer to buy him a power tool if he will use it to help you with a project you are doing.. (that is my usual nefarious way of getting him to help me!) .. and yeah, like you, I start new projects every day, without finishing the last 2..or 5...
As crafters, we often start several projects and many are unfinished - this is "normal", so relax. Next, take one of you unfinished projects and complete it so you can brag it up to hubby. Finally, to get him "involved", pick a project that might require his help for say 5 minutes. Let him know the time limit, so it will be hard for him to refuse and let him know how important it is to you.
Just last week, I drug home a pathetic dresser (free) with the sliders missing on the bottom drawer, and it needed a little help shoring it up. My son is also my caretaker and when he was about to leave the house, I asked him to "buzz by Lowes" and pick up a set of 18" drawer sliders (showed him a picture on the internet). By the time he returned, I had moved the dresser to the middle of the living room. You see where I'm going with this.... He mounted the sliders, shored it up and when he saw the final product said, "Mom, I thought you were nuts when you drug this thing home. Turned out really nice!" OK, truth is, it took him about 15-20 minutes. I do this a lot.
Hello Valerie; Thank-You!!! What about his favorite takeaway and his favorite cold drink? Or ask him to Please help, and say that you are treating him out to dinner, afterwards?
If worse comes to worse, tell him that I said to help you or else!!! Dr. Sunny's Orders!!!
Find out his interests
Perhaps if he saw the finished projects BEFORE you started another one, he might want to help.
