great spice in your dishes.
Chop clean leaves and freeze or dry for sauces, stews, soups, baked meats. Look up recipes for pesto. Delicious, healthy and with luck it may come back next year. It's also pretty in a pot with other herbs or flowers. Great as gift herbs to friends.
wash the leaves and allow them to dry, put in a freezer bag and pop into the freezer. Use the frozen basil in any recipe that calls for basil (tomato soup, Italian pasta sauces, turkey/chicken stuffing)
Basil its in just about every Italian disH. It an be dried and stored in the pantry
Basil is awesome in tomato sauce. Thrownit on pasta or pizza or maybe an omelette?
Basil will come back the next year, it you watch it you will see it seed. I had it growin in a pot and the next summer it came up in other areas in the yard. Dried what I could just left on the counter or in the oven and let it air dry. put it in a jar for seasoning dishes.
