Sharon do you have those type of tracks to hold the wood doors already? If not, I think it could get expensive.

No I don't, but we are willing to buy them and we have priced them.

Great...then it is just taking measurements for the doors needed and then deciding what wood to use. Your local library may have plans and ideas for your garage doors.

For one whole garage door would require a large beam and enough space past the door to roll it out on the full width of the door. Do you have that space beside the garage?

Here is your hardware for 2 doors, maybe they have it for 1 door set up. I have seen it on a few ranches but its more unusual to do 1 door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZULXgi_V7yg

Barn doors will roll past the opening unless you have a double car garage, then you can have one side roll behind the other. It's a great look!

We went to a overhead door place and purchased a sliding rail. Our door was for a golf barn and the opening was 10 feet. The rail hangs outside of the door and is the width of the door plus an additional ten feet. We then went to one of the big box stores and bought the outdoor paneling in rough cedar. My husband and I built a frame out of 2x4s(it has to be sturdy. We then mounted the panels to the frame and added two 1x4 "Xs" on the door for a barn door look. The overhead railing comes with mounts that have rollers on them which fit the mounting rail. This door has been in place for 8 years. We repaint it every two to three years. Aside from that it has been no problem. Cost was about $400.

Do you have any pictures? Everyone in my area seems to have the answers, but yours sounds like the best.
