It depends what you want in it and what your budget is. Some people gut the space and start over, some get new appliances and furniture and some just do a thorough cleaning and sprucing up with colorful accent pieces.
because of wt and balance issues....talk to a camper dealer......have them help you with a plan. 4 of us good friends would arrange our vacations for the same time...head off into the wild blue yonder. the last rig had a queen sized bed ...it got converted to 2 twins.
Hopefully all of the mechanicals (electrical, appliances, toilets) are in good shape! If so, and the layout works for you, the balance can be updated by replacing the curtains and cushions with an updated colour scheme, (I would purchase new foam for the cushions) 1978 screams to me that the trailer is probably yellow, orange and brown with pannelling on the walls. I would either replace the panelling with new (the kind that looks like wall paper) or paint the panelling or wall paper over it. Floor can be replaced with sheet vinyl or press and stick tiles or there is a very thin vinyl that looks like a laminate wood floor. We renovated a 1979 trailer as our first trailer, did all of the above, but also took the closet for hanging clothes out, made the sofa into a trundle bed (double from 3/4) used the closet horizontally on the wall for cupboards And put additional storage in the bathroom. Have fun!
Bet that was a lot of work! Take a walk-thru of some brand new ones and it might give you some ideas you never had before. Have fun with it!
ive towed boats, a fold down camper, and a small Hard sided camper And several versions of utility trailers. Where you put the weight can help you stay on the road.
