Better to buy mushrooms at the grocer vs. risk dying
It LOOKS like an oyster mushroom... but, if you didn't propagate it yourself, or if you're not an expert on mushrooms I wouldn't consider it safe to eat.
Don't eat it please.
Not oyster but possibly shitake.
Most likely common Toadstool. They pop up overnight with little encouagement. Remove it to garbage can.
no no no no. Very deadly. I know a great deal about this fungi. Do not eat.
I asked a friend she is a mushroom genius and she said no not safe to eat.
Psilocybin
When in doubt--DON'T! I live in MI and purchased the Mushroom Hunter's Field Guide written by a specialty Professor from U of M. In Northern Michigan, I identified 47 varieties of mushrooms and toadstools--ALL poisonous or causing major discomfort or severe cramping. Don' t risk your life unless you like ERs. There are enough new varieties in many large Supermarkets.
Cousin's hubby nearly died after one bite. Days in ICU. Don't.
It is not possible to 100% safely identify this species.
One key is what does the under side look like another is what color are the spores that drop out from the bottom of the cap. These are 2 of the most common indicators beyond the location of the growth and the color and shape of the top view.
Never eat any mushrooms that you are uncertain of. Severe illness or death commonly occur when some one makes an error in identification. There are even some mushrooms that are OK to eat in the early stages of growth and then later become deadly as they mature.
Please don't eat! I think it's not worth losing your life over. Best to go to farm market or Whole Foods...
Never trust the word of anyone except a mushroom grower or someone who knows what they are doing. Buy your mushrooms.
These are common toad stools and are not edible
All mushrooms are edible. But some are only edible once. (Sorry, I had to post that.)
Never ever eat unknown mushrooms as it will kill your liver, then you! There is only one type of person I trust, that is the brokers for forest mushroom gatherers, and second Mycologist from your local university but I have see a few of those die over 40 years of wilderness work.
If you have to ask don't eat it.
These pop up in my grass..DON'T eat them!
