I used 16 inch square landscape blocks. You must first make sure the ground is level. They can be laid right next to each other or with space between them.
Put down a ground cloth (to Keep Weeds and Grass At Bay) Then Lay Down Smooth Stepping Stones.
Put a layer of landscaping paper to block weeks. Add a layer of pea gravel and a few stepping stones!
Hello Amustgoe; If I were you, I would purchase inexpensive Pavers or stepping stones at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Etc.
I hope that this helps you!!!! Take Care!
try rubber mulch it comes in colors too
PALETS
Pavers, artificial turf, create a platform with pallet wood. I wouldn't recommend stone, nobody wants to walk barefoot on the stone.
Have you tried paving stones by the hot tub, they come in all different shapes , sizes, and colors and will add a little decor to the area where the hot tub is ... they are rough and usually not slippery... see what that would look like... might have to time a little time in putting them down...
Use comercial grade landscape fabric, top with the proper paver base, use 12x12,18,18,0r 4x2x6 blocks, fill the cracks in with finishing sand
Add pea gravel and stepping stones leading away from your tub. You can also use larger rocks to hold the pea gravel in the area around your tub. Decorate with potted plants, wind chimes and other outside items to create a tropical paradise.
PS try paining the stones with glow in the dark paint for a special glow at night.
Pea gravel is usually rounded enough th it doesn't hurt to walk on, and with a minimal border will stay in place when it rains. The various colors in the stone make it a pretty surface too.
Pallets. artificial turf and creativty.
Have you thought about astro turf
One of the best ideas I have found is using paving stones to go around the hot tub or buy a stone form and pour your own stones. I have used this method many many times. You use Quickcret to mix and pour in the form and you can color the Quickcret before you pour it into the form to give it a more finished look. I love this method because I can place the form any way I want. When the stones have set up, you can move them around if necessary. You can also be very creative in finishing the stones off. One can find all the materials at Home Depot.
