I don't think any of us keep track of the ads. I googled watch solar eclipse with laundry basket and came up with nothing using a laundry basket at all. Here's a pin hole recommended: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/make-pinhole-projector.html but the safest way is with the solar eclipse glasses. They are worth it to protect your eyes from possibility of going blind. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=solar+eclipse+glasses
it would not be in the questions section, it would be under projects but I have searched and I don't see anything about the eclipse. where was the ad?
I once saw watching eclipse through metal colender Was an idea, I would still use the 'glasses'.
The only thing safe for viewing the eclipse is ISO certified glasses, anything else you may go blind or damage your eyes.
This is not anything to mess around with. You could lose your eyesight. Make sure you have the correct eclipse approved glasses. It is the only way.
I can't wait for Aug 21. My whole family is into it. We don't have any special glasses but no intentions of looking directly at it. Have fun with it. It's been 99 years since the last one.
My family has our glasses ready, but I am concerned for all the school children. Almost all the schools will be back in session in Texas. We will get about 75% coverage around noon. I'm certain some schools and some teachers will be ready, but not all, and kids can be so careless of their own safety. This is one of those Trust in the Lord issues. I want my grandchildren to experience their first total (almost) eclipse with excitement and safety. And everybody else's, too. Best wishes 😇
On NBC Evening News on Thurs. there was a piece about buying non-approved glasses to watch the eclipse. The ophthalmologist interviewed said you can go blind without using appropriate glasses. Stay away from the cutsie, cheap ideas just to save money.
