Whose drapes on whose back porch?
These are called conduit clips. They can be side or top mounted. I use pipe for outdoor curtains. Mount clips, use circle hooks and put on pipe. Then mount pipe and secure pipe with nut and bolts. Hang curtain and done.
Yes, you can also use cup hooks to attach the poles under the roof area. They are pretty inexpensive and be found in lowes, walmart, target, etc. This is an example of some from amazon.
i used shower spring rods
I bought sun shades for my deck from Sportsman's Guide on-line. They are great. They also sell material that you can put across the roof if the sun comes through.
If you don't get a lot of wind, you can use lightweight PVC pipe and paint it whatever color you want to. Also, a good budget-friendly option is to use shower curtains as the drapes! They're water proof. 😀
I use shower curtains also. There are so many pretty ones to choose from
We have a purgola. We hung braided wire from on side to the other. This was on the sun side. I found very nice , heavy cotton shower curtains at Walmart. I hung the curtains with standard shower curtain hangers. They dry out well after the rain. I will be able to wash the after the summer.
Use a wooden rod, put big rings on drapes
If you do get wind and don't want your sheers/curtains blowing about, sew/glue some heavy magnets to the bottom hem to weigh them down. Beautiful view!
if u don't need the magnet, by chain from h. Depot and place in the hem. Just hand tack each end!
I'm doing the same by using galvanized floor flanges, galvanized poles, large curtain hooks with clips, painter's drop cloths, rubbed bronze paint..for tiebacks, use thick corded rope, steel coupling, screw hooks and twine.
Adding the drapes will look amazing remember to weight the bottom corners down to prevent flying away with washers and add tie backs. Here's a few picture ideas Along with a corner idea. Command hooks work well and no drilling involved.
