I wish...my little anole escaped its terrarium. Eight months later I spotted it all fat and happy from eating insects in my tiny home.
A lizard or gecko inside is considered good luck by some cultures. Aside from the little "poops" it will leave, you are really better off leaving it alonge and allowing it to eat any bugs that will also come through the second floor window.
You can use glue traps.
Where do you live? Just curious what type of lizard it is. I'm in S. FL so we have tons of different lizards. Most you can catch and p/up and just place outside. If that freaks you out, try a net of some sort or throw a blanket over it and p/up that way. Don't be concerned, the worst that will happen is they will eat any bugs you have lol. Good luck! ;)
I would use a net to catch it if you don't want it to eat the bugs that get in the house. As long as it looks healthy and not to skinny, you know he is having a good diet in your house and helping it be bug free.
thanks all... I am not freaked out... think my guests would be if they saw it. I guess it is doing well in my office. looked healthy to me when it showed itself to me yesterday. too fast to get it. yes... a net will work... thanks to you all!!! b
LOL! I hear ya! We have green lizards here that bite, that's why I was asking. Sounds like a salamander. With all of the lizards we have the green ones are the only ones I know to have a painful bite. The rest might nip because they are being picked up but it's rare to have any harm done. I love them, so I don't mind handling them. You can try to p/up & put in a shoe box to bring outside or like I said above, if you don't like touching them, a little aquarium net or a small towel will work too. I've never known a lizard to want to be around humans so I doubt it would get near you in bed, but stranger things have happened lol! Best of luck to you! Send an update if you get it
