I'm not knowledgeable about plants, but I have one that I water when I think of it. I'll look up the name of this one, and get back to you. If you go to your local nursery or flower shop they could help you also. Good Luck!
depending on how much/little natural light your plants will receive will dictate the variety and success -- I like Pathos, Spathes, Prayer plants, Sansivarious, are all 'easy' keepers --- some plants don't like being 'moved' around -- the popular Ficus trees -- once they are 'happy' in your home, moving can cause a great deal of stress=leaf drop=dead tree! when you purchase the plant, be sure to keep the tag that comes with it and 'Search' on the plant name -- Care of ABC Houseplant ... or something similar to that.
spider plants, wandering Jew and ferns all grow pretty easy with little to no effort.

Mother-Laws-Tongue - Rubber Plant
Potho's, definitely! I left for 2 1/2 weeks in the height of summer, leaving my 2 newly potted clippings and 2 full, lush hanging baskets. Because of rain chances, hubby left all windows to my 3 season room closed, causing temps to easily reach 125 +, and he never watered. I returned home to find 'dead' plants everywhere. I trimmed to 1" above soil, watered well (not drowning) and kept soil moist. Within 2 weeks, I had new growth including 2-3 leaves on most stems. Now, nearl 3 months later, all 4 baskets are needing trimmed and new starts made!
You need to treat the pet and please get something for your pet that you know will be safe. I then use an environmental spray around the baseboards and under the furniture. When you vacumn remember to empty the bag outside or you can have some live fleas in the garbage can that will come out when you open the can. I do that with the bag for at least 2 weeks

Hi Abigail: I have a philodendron that my son gave me several years ago. It was on it's last root, nearly dead. It is flourishing now, really forgiving if you forget to water it for a couple of days, and grows best where there is just ambient light. I have brought some Geraniums from my garden last summer, inside and they are blooming :) I put them in a window that gets some sunlight during the day. Same with my Gerberas. Brought them in, didn't know they would get so tall inside!, put them in a sunny window and have flowers on them all winter, just like the Geraniums.
