My house was built in the 1980's and the ceilings are sprayed with paint that has the little foam chunks in it. We always have called them popcorn ceilings. I am wanting to repaint the rooms but would like to get rid of that look on the ceilings- but it is a huge mess to try and scrape it off.

I used a pump-up type garden sprayer with a fan pattern spray tip. I filled the sprayer tank half way with water, spray the ceiling, let set a few minutes, then used a 4 inch wide putty knife to scrape it off. Be sure to put cheap plastic drop clothes down first to make things less messy. Worked great for me!
I had my entire house done. It included texturizing and painting. Cost $900.00. Worth every penny😊 1,325 sq. feet (vaulted ceilings and closets).
