the radon gas comes from the soil, the best way to remove it is to vent it out of your house. check with a contractor who does radon removal. radon gas is linked to lung cancer.
No you need someone who is trained in radon mitigation, they say to contact your state office for a list of qualified radon mitigators.... http://www.radon.com/maps/
This info says to run another test before you do any work on your house... http://www.radon.com/radon_mitigation/
Have you had a test done. You can buy a test and do it yourself.
You should probably get on your state website and EPA. There should be contractors registered with the state you live in. The contractors that built your house should be registered.
You require a "Certified Radon Mitigation Contractor"
Absolutely not. You need a certifed company to perform the remediation work. Here are a couple links to help you out.

Only if the plumber is certified to do so. Look for basement/ repair companies, many do both.

A radon mitigation contractor or radon tester will be able to tell you what kind of radon control system you can use. They should also be able to provide tips for keeping your home safe.
