I put Vinegar mixed with a small amount of water and 1 drop of dish soap in a small bowl. I add a small chunk of apple core in the center.
The dish soap kills the adult fruit flies.
Thats not all you need to do, however! Pour Boiling water down all of your drains to kill the larvae or they will just rein your house.
To quickly get rid of the ones flying around and annoying you, spray a paper plate with spray cooking oil and use the plate to catch them mid flight!

    Hope that helps!

i use 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons water and 2 drops dawn dish soap. The fruit flies are attracted to it and drown in it. I put several little jars around where I see the flies and change the solution every few days. Also be sure to keep all food put away and counters very clean. And I empty the trash a couple times a day when I had a bad investation. So basically you are trying to drown and or starve the buggers. I find this method a little slower then spraying bug bomb around Which smells and is toxic.

To get rid of fruit flies, I make a mixture of wine and dish soap and put them in little cups around the house. Small cups are easy to hide, so your guests don't see them. Especially near my kitchen sink, my plants and garbage cans. They go in and die. You can also use white vinegar and dish soap, or squeezed lemon with dish soap. Keep an eye on them though, because they do dry up and you might have to put more in them. Also, never leave dirty dishes in your sink or clean dishes in a dish tray. Also, when you go to bed and you know that no one is going to use the sink, pour oil down the drain of your kitchen sink. They lay eggs in there.

Fruit flies are not always fruit flies. Sometimes they are drain flies. Try to figure out what you have first. IF they are drain flies, you will need to plug up the drains with a screen while you lure them to a dish of dish soap apple cider vinegar. You need to thoroughly clean out all your drains first. OR you can just purchase some drain fly killer. But they tend to be hard to kill.
IF it is fruit flies, then the dish with the vinegar and a few drops of dish soap will draw them too.

Put 1/4 C. Apple Cidar Vinegar in a juice glass - (small glass or jar) add just a drop of liquid dish detergent. Cover open top with plastic wrap - tight. Punch holes in top of plastic with fork and leave on counter or wherever flies are mostly for a few days. Flies will crawl in through small holes and not be able to get out.

Start by putting a little wine in a short glass, half full. Next put a plastic wrap over the glass, and secure it with an elastic band. Put 4-5 holes in the plastic, small holes, use a knife. The fruit flies will be attracted to the wine smell, and go to the top of the plastic, find a hole and fall in. They drop in, and they die. Make 3-4 traps, and spread them out on the counter. Now wait and be patient, this might take a few days. Good Luck!
