What can I do now,to make my grass healthier next spring?..

my grass is brown and patchy right now...it did not get a lot of water this year because of outrageously high water bills..also have to puppies that go in the grass....help!!!

There are fertilizer systems that go according to the time of year, You would start with the fall on and in the spring use that one (usually a weed and feed), etc. You can find them at home improvement stores in the yard and garden section, I'm sure that even stores like WalMart even sell them.
Try a "Weed and Feed Fertilizer" in the Spring, maybe sometime in April before the hot sun arrives. Try retraining your puppies to go elsewhere.
