I don't know. We had to take down a cedar patio cover because of Carpenter bees. Good luck!
I have never had to deal with this problem so all I can offer is a link . This is a link of 13 possible ways to rid your shed of them. We had wasps in ours and used a wasp fogger and it did the trick; but there my knowledge ends. Hope this link helps, if not consider professional pest control. Baking Soda ! Sprinkle in and around holes and say good-bye to them! Worked for me! Good luck.
If they're carpenter bees, only the queen can sting. They're really hard to get rid of because it's recommended that you put the product in their holes in the evening and plug the hole. We had reasonably good luck with a product from this company: https://store.doyourownpestcontrol.com/flying-insect-control-products/carpenter-bee-control-products?p=1
I use Black-flag Wasp and Hornet spray. Spray it into the hole. Works good in SC
