Being old and delicate, I would take to a professional wedding dress cleaner and see what they have to say . . . And how much will it cost. Then decide if you want to let them do the work or take your chances on a home remedy.
If it has meaning for you, I would go the pro route first. If it is a find or something you want to use to make something else (like a baptismal gown) I would very carefully clean it by hand in tepid water with oxiclean. Rinse carefully and spread the dress out to dry. Beading is heavy, and I wouldn't risk hanging it up.

My opinion would be to take it to a professional dry cleaners and let them take care of it.
