How can I make this attic room into a inviting area..w/blue carpet

Paint the walls a silver color which will create a warm feeling

i would get rid of the orange paint and go monochromatic-dark blue floor, mid to light blue on the walls, barley there blue on the ceiling. raise the beds a bit and put storage under. i'd try another photo but win 10 hates me.

Blues are especially good for bedrooms -- the warm colors have to go -- I really like DFM from Cascade IA recommendations ---

Start with colors of white, and light beige, or red just a little red. Make the curtains white , pillows on the chairs can be nautical, ships, starfish boat wheel etc. It's hard to tell you storage area ideas, when we don't know how much space we have to work with, send a picture if you can, this would help. This is a really nice space. You probably have lots of storage space behind those walls, that you could utilize if you wanted to go that way. I would paint the walls a very light color (white) which is what we painted all of our attic. What purpose will you put his space to? That would answer a lot of questions. Our attic we use as bed space of our visiting grandchildren. Here is the girls room dressed for winter! The floor here is painted green, so the velvet curtains here are also green.

If the carpet is flat, I would stencil it with a light paint to look more like tile. That will allow you to camouflage the dark blue. I would paint the walls and ceiling the same white color, then pain stripes on the walls to make the ceiling look higher. You could use 2 or 3 colors for the stripes, then compliment with curtains of one color. For storage, using wooden crates stacked (and screwed together) would give you room for folded clothes, books and supplies for homework, and even craft supplies. If you don't like the look of the clothes you can always put small curtains on those crates. Another way to stack the crates would be to make two stacks, maybe 5 high for either end, then 3 or 4 screwed together sideways, then screw that section to the middle of the vertical ones, You could add a rod to hang clothes and curtain to hide. You would want a unit of stacked crates to be attached to the wall also. This concept would brighten the room, and give you versatile storage.

It always help to Paint small or enclosed areas a light color , makes them look bigger. You could put some rope lights on the railing, if theres a plug close by. Stencil or put some cling decorations all along where the walls meet the ceiling after painting. Maybe put a fabric bench on the wall near the railing. then make the end by the window a little nook like hang out area. and maybe on each wall put a sofa table. The taller rectangle table you see behind peoples couches, and put some pretty stuff on them.

I would LOVE to see beadboard on those walls! You can buy beadboard panels at the big box stores or use a wallpaper. IF the walls aren't smooth then buy the wood panels. White beadboard and a white ceiling. Bed under the window with some sort of framed artwork or mirror on each side of the window. Sisal rug at the end of the bed. The shape of the room is cute! Hard to tell the dimensions. Could you fit a twin bed up against the window wall ? That would give you more floor space and probably give you room for a desk or table.
