No matter what you put on top it is going to get dirty, that is part of being outside. If you wish, make wood tops for them. Or use tablecloth weights on your tablecloth. I have coffee on my patio every chance I get, I just windex quickly before setting the table. Glass patio tables are made of tempered glass and should not break with everyday use. One of mine was tumbled in 90 mph winds and still didn't break.
You can put a wood cover over the glass. Get vinyl tablecloths, cut them down to the shape of the table top, put on elastic and that should keep them on. I have had tempered glass table tops for years and I just hose them off when needed. I use placemats that are woven natural fibers that stand up to weather to put my plants, etc. on the table and not scratch. I have had my set since early 2000's and have not broken glass from either of the end tables or coffee table. The set stays out even in the winter which up here can get to -30 F.
Hello, I know you want to replace them, but have you ever thought of using flex seal clear to cover the glass. It would make it more durable and you could just wipe off any dirt.
You are very welcome. Glad I could help. They make it in a spray which should be really easy but they also make it in a liquid that you can brush on. If you could, please let me know how it works out for you. Have a great week.
