if there are white crusts? you can submerge it in vinegar to dissolve them.
Could be a scale build up. Try a scale/lime remover e.g. CLR or supposedly lemon juice works if applied, left a few minutes and wash off.
Fill a zip lock bag with white vinegar and rubber band the bag around the nossel so the nossel is totally immersed. Leave it all night and it should be free of minerals. Reapply 2 times a year to keep it working well. We have loads of minerals in our water and this is what works for us. Hope this helps
