Should I add fertilizer to my tulips when planting in the fall?

    no ....rule of thumb any newly planted flowers,etc.have to establish one year before fertilizing,add bone meal

    I mix bone meal with the earth when I first set out my tulips.

    You could put down some fertilizer when planting your bulbs but don't put it in the hole. Instead you should place fertilizer on top of the soil after the bulb is planted. In the spring, sprinkle some of that same fertilizer when the plant starts.

    No. The bulbs are ready to go. Remember to plant about 6 inches deep and give them a couple of inches in between.

    Don't add it directly where the bulb will touch it, mix it in the soil beneath the bulb. Use bone meal or ground egg shells. They like calcium
