Alternatively I put water from the kettle to cover the burn mark and throw in a DW pod and let soak...Don't do this if the pot is aluminum or has a teflon coating!

Hi Liz, soak your cookware in warm, soapy water for a few hours to "soften up" the burn marks. Pour the water out and then sprinkle baking soda over them and rub it in with a sponge. Allow it to set until dry and then scrub it off
