Hi Jeannie, Here's a link that may help! https://www.doyourownpestcontrol.com/drainflies.htm
Good luck!
In my experience these are usually fruit flies. I have searched online before for fruit fly traps. I have been using for years just a banana peal in a sour cream type empty container. Put a piece of plastic wrap over the top & secure with a rubber brand. Pull fairly tightly. Poke small holes with pointy knife or fork. The flies go in but cant get out. Dispose after a few days. Repeat if necessary.
Put a dish filled with cider vinegar not white. Drop in a drop of Dawn detergent. Flies land and can't get out. I just got Rid of a whole bunch.
Yes, the method that Char Becker describes works magical! Just make sure to use apple cider vinegar!
Sounds like "sewer flies". I would try vinegar .
