I had a guy come and make me an elevated concrete slab. Make sure it is level or your spin cycle will be off balance.

i just made a frame out of 2x lumber, think i would have to measure, but prob. ;2x8 or 2x10, top with ply and put them on top, saves bending over to get clothes in, front loader.

A lot of dampness could cause wood to rot. I'd go with several bricks or cinder blocks to get them off the floor. If you do use wood go for red wood or paint with a wood sealer.

I would definitely build a pplatform, either of wood or even use ceramic tiles as a barrier from the cement floor.

Yes, you'll need a platform to keep them off the dampness. You need to control the humidity in your basement, a dehumidifier and Damp Rid bags are a start.
