Our living room is also gray. We put up a floating shelf above the sofa. We also put two paintings under the shelf. On the top we put three vases and a large candle. I change them out with Christmas decor every year. I really like having the shelf for that reason.
i put a sofa sized mirror on my dark gray wall above the sofa.
I have paintings on one wall and family pictures on another. Black and white photos really look great against a gray wall.
