Put peanuts in the shell on the outskirts of your fence. This will cause them to look for food there. They rather have nuts, because they can bury them. It may deter them. Good Luck!
I have heard they are very good to eat.
I live in a subdivision with decent size lots in SC and old ladies sit on their back porches and shoot squirrels. Everyone knows and don't seem concerned. Seems to me you could do the same thing especially n a farm.
I am NOT a fan of murder! First, call your area wild animal control services. Here are some natural measures.
Sprinkle blood meal, ground black pepper, dried blood, or talcum powder around the perimeter of your garden. You can try using hair clippings as well. Puree and strain hot peppers and garlic, mix them with water and enough liquid soap to make it stick, and spray it liberally around the garden. (not sure of the effectiveness of these)
Human urine works. But only from adult males, my cousin has since informed me. Ladies, conscript your husbands, sons, brothers, nephews and uncles.

Fox urine granules will work but only for 2-3 weeks
Alternatively, you can stink out, burn them out or water them out:
