I would like to know how to get rid those pesty little sink/drain flies. I've tried baking soda and vinegar, drain cleaners and put plastic over the drains.
Make a sweet trap in a jar that will attract them........
take a clear jar..one that you recycle...put a piece of over ripe fruit in the bottom.then make a funnel out of a sheet of paper...put a smallish hole at the small end of the funnel.....the fruit flies will go to the fruit. You might have to do up one for every room with the flies in them
Put every piece of fruit or vegetable in the refrigerator, wrapped in plastic. Cover any houseplants with big plastic bags or plastic wrap because your fruit flies may be real flies. Then do the sweet traps in each room. They usually die within three days, but newly hatched ones start the clock again. Best wishes 😇💞

Start with several small glasses, and pour wine in them, about 1/2 the glass. Cover with plastic wrap, and secure with an elastic band. Poke 3-4 holes in the plastic, and spread the glasses around your apartment where they are. They smell the wine, they go near the holes, they go on the holes, and drop in, and they eventually die. This might take several days, so be patient, and wait. Don't use Zip Lock Bags, plastic wrap only. If you have old fermented wine, that's even better. Wash all fruit when you get it home, if it's going to sit out. These were from bananas, I'm sure. Good Luck!
You need to find where they are coming from in each room. When I had a brief infestation I got rid of them one at a time, but they continued to appear until one day while removing the garbage from the kitchen garbage can I saw the little egg pouches inside the can. I cleaned it out good and eventually they disappeared.
I get rid of them by setting out a glass mug with a tablespoon of dish soap and add plenty of apple vinegar and they disappear quickly. When they land for the vinegar the soap has broken the tension on the surface and they sink and drown. Works great!
Good luck!
wash them when you get them home, and put in fridge when ripe. For bananas, peaches, nectarines or any fruit you buy that’s hard and must ripen, put in brown paper ( lunch) bags, close it up and leave on counter to ripen faster. The brown paper creates a gas that hurries the process. Never leave ripe fruit on the counter or fruit waster in an inside trash can.
I make traps using apple cider vinegar with a dash of liquid dishwashing soap covered with plastic wrap with a few small holes in top. This time of year there are so many fruit flies in them that I have to change them out every few days.
