What is the best way to clean brick floors?
We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?
Bona products work the best. I have laminate in my kitchen and understand exactly what you mean.
I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle, spray an area and take a damp mop and go over it. Then do another area and go over with with a damp mop. When I am done mopping, I take a terrycloth towel, put it over my mop and dry the floor....always leaves it looking clean when I dry it this way....otherwise is sort of spotty, I agee.
Any cleaning solution with water in it will most likely leave a few spots on laminate floors. You can try dry dusting the floor first to remove dust, debris, etc. Then, use a very slightly damp sponge mop or microfiber mop to damp mop. If there are spots after that, use a dust mop with a bit of pledge on it to give the floors a bit of shine and remove the spots.
Try Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner. Let it sit for a few minutes and then mop it. It lifts dirt out of the small uneven spots of the floor.
Alcohol.....works great but use mask!

There is most likely a residue left from prior cleaning.Try the white vinegar and water 50/50 with a microfiber mop.See if that removes the so called spots. If not try plain white toothpaste only in those spots, wipe off and again clean but with the Bona LAMINATE FLOOR CARE SYSTEM
It is never a recommended practice to steam laminate flooring, that will lead to the floor buckling up
