We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?

I would damp mop the floors with a little liquid cleaner (not soap). You do not want to use something that leaves a film. I like Murphy Oil Soap. It is great on wood and can be used on non-wood surfaces like ceramic tiles, no wax floors, painted surfaces without leaving a residue.Helpful Reply -
