Hi Belinda. You can use diatomaceous earth. It is organic and safe for pets. You can even put it on your pet. It is made of crushed shells and coral. It cuts insects with a exoskeleton causing them to dehydrate and then die. Works great. I use it for ticks and ants in my yard.
Diaatomaceous earth for your yard -- agricultural, not pool filter and OrthoBorate powder for your home - furniture, FLEA BUSTERS is on Amazon -- also Bayer Lawn and Shrub is the same product as in their Advantage topical for fleas -- just a stronger amount -- but if your pets leave your yard they will continue to re-contaminate your home/yard --- also, you may need to treat for TAPEWORMS -- get Droncit from your vet.
food grade diatomaceous earth

The last one is what I do for my yard.
I'd be wondering why your pets are getting fleas. One or two, sure but if they're bringing home bunches, yikes!
Vet put Bravecto on my cats. No problems with them and no fleas in the house.
Completely wiped them out. New application every three months. Best stuff I have ever used.
Knockout by Virbac, you can buy it on Amazon, follow directions, safe around cats and dog NOT safe around birds, fish, and reptiles. It worked for me (my vet recommended it).
