Checked the battery? You may just need to buy a new remote. Or maybe the gear on the opener itself is wearing out. I hope these are helpful.
Did you check contacts or battery in the remote? they might be corroded
Try fresh batteries in the remote. Do you think the antenna wire got broken from the bend? What environmental things have changed, if any? We now have to dodge items the neighbors park in their yards. Try different positions for the antenna, one of you on the ladder and the other with the remote. You could reprogram the remote.
Change the battery in the remote.
Forgive me for going to a basic suggestion (based on the fact that I didn't know this could be a problem for my smart key until it didn't work) but, have you checked the batteries in your remote. That thought occurred to me when you said the wall control works. Here's a link for trouble shooting:https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-mozilla-001&hsimp=yhs-001&hspart=mozilla&p=trouble+with+garage+remote+control#id=2&vid=108516dc3b8e17bfa53a9646240eace4&action=click
Does the remote take batteries? Ours does but there may be different kinds.
check the batteries
batteries?
Start by checking the batteries in your remote, as far as wires, you should check the connection on the wall to the switch on the wall. I think you need new batteries.
Does the remote need new batteries? If the wall switch is working fine, it must be a problem with the remote. perhaps it is simply worn out? You can usually find replacement universal remotes at Sears, and some home centers for a fairly low price.
could it be the battery in the remote?
It could be your battery. If you've replaced those and there's still a problem it is your sensor. The sensors should be facing each other. If that doesn't work, You may need a repair guy to come out.
Try replacing the battery in the remote.
You need batteries in your remote, check them first
Change the batteries in the remote.
Have you checked the battery?
If it's an old one it may just be worn out.. You can buy remotes at hardware store and program for yours.
Garage door remotes have a battery inside. That would be a good place to check first.
Check the battery inside of the remote. Also, the contact switch inside of the remote can get dirty. It can be cleaned with a Q-tip and alcohol
Try contacting the company where the garage remote came from.
change the battery in the remote - that should do the trick!
It could be the battery. You can also purchase new remotes and have it reset to your system
Linda, check and see if the batteries are alive ,, try new ones and if this doesn't work go to a garage door outfit and have them look at your remote...good luck
Did you check the battery in the remote? This article also has some other ideas that might help you.

Good luck!
Try changing the battery in the remote!!!
i would google the brand. Sometimes there is a QandA section that will answer your problem.
There is an antenna wire that should be hanging out of opener motor, make sure that it is visible.
Did you try changing the batteries in the remote?
in our case, the hand held remote (the one we have in our auto) needed a new battery.
Hello Lindafredb, Try changing the batteries in the remote. If that doesn't work, try contacting the manufacturer. Talk to someone in their Customer Service department.
Make sure a brand new battery is in correctly.
I know this is obvious, but replace the batteries In all remotes. Check out the mechanism box with the motor and a light. Check the outlet where the remote radio wire and the battery for power outages are found. And oil the chain and every part that moves on the door. We put up with our undependable remotes for several years, getting more frustrated every year. We had a professional come out for a tune up and got new remotes. The chain, motor, etc. we're all fine. So $100 set us up for the last five years. We learned a lot of what we can do, but it's about time for another checkup. Best wishes 😇💞
change the battery!
Hi Lindafredb! Have you checked the battery in your remote? Mine is getting weak as well, I have to be quite close to the garage to get it to work, I'll replace the battery as soon as I remember to buy one! Hope this helps!
e was acting up too. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didnt..put in a new battery at the outside unit! It worked!
had the same problem! Put in a new battery in the outside unit! It worked!!

Just a thought: Is it possible that the battery in the remote needs to be replaced?? It is always my goal to try the simplest and least expensive "fix" first!
I had a similar problem not too long ago. I thought it was the battery. Checked the battery with a voltmeter and it was fine. The short wire is just the antenna. If you have the manual check on how to program the remote with the codes. I have a Sears Craftsman. On the opener is a button that says program. Push the button till the LED lights. Press the button on the remote. Once the opener lights flash a few times the remote is programed. I had to do this three times before the lights flashed. The remote was programed and it worked. Sometimes the remote loses all or some of the program codes and needs to be repogramed to capture all the codes. Codes rotate every time the remote is used. I assume all openers would basically work the same. If you don't have the manual then just Google the model number of your opener for the manual.
Contact the manufacturer. I had to do this with a house I bought. The cost of buying a new remote is a lot less than replacing the whole unit.
did you put new batteries in the remote?....do you have windows in the garage door?
.
Is your remote control the hand held style that clips on to the visor inside the car? Usually these have some kind of batteries.
Do you need a new battery f or the remote or inside the garage down near the floor are lights one on the right side and the other on the left which should face each other in a line, if they are not aligned correctly the door will not open. I hope this works for you
The lights on the floor are aligned and my Remotes do not have batteries they are all wiring inside, but still do not work
