what is the problem? Brown spots, yellowing, weeds?
For brown spots pull back some of the dead grass and see if you see white worms. Those are the grubs. Use a grub killer. Yellowing requires fertilizer.
Weeds requires weed killer plus fertilizer. Beyond that I’m lost
First off what is the problem. You could be cutting it to short. Grass needs to be at least 3 in tall . The roots need to be 3 in deep. If you cut it to short the roots die. So grass should ALWAYS be no shorter than 3 inches. You may need to aerate your lawn to get nutrients and air to the roots. Check with your county extension office too for more advice or you can look at Purdue University extension web site for free pamphlets you can download on all kinds of things.
