Use the backs of doors all over the house.: front door, back door, closet door, bedroom door, etc. If you have any room under the bed, store sweatshirts there, or under any other raised furniture. How about on top of a cabinet anywhere? Clean out your closet and all clothing drawers to make more room. Give away what you can, including extra coats, shoes, sweatshirts, and purses. If you don’t wear your costume or Christmas dress but once, and still have clothes from high school, get rid of those, too. 😇💞
How about a coat rack? Either mounted to the wall or freestanding? As Jewell suggested, use the back of any available doors. Can you reorganize your closets and any clothes storage?
You can clear out a lot of room in your closets and dresser if your store your seasonal clothes. I use the vacuum bags to do this. I also use under the bed boxes that are on wheels. Beds have lots of room for storage underneath them. I can put four under bed boxes under my queen size bed that is on risers, along with a good number of the vacuumed bags. I also store extra bed linens, comforters and pillows for our spare room in the bags and keep them in our storeroom/workroom in the basement. They stay clean, dry and fresh smelling, ready to use when our son comes home for a few days off from trucking across the country. I have the metal over the door coat racks on our small front closet and the basement door for frequently worn jackets and sweatshirts.
A coat tree works great.
I went to Walmart and brought a heavy duty garment rack and Put it in the mud room for coats and a under bed bag for the sweater.
