We have sold our house and are moving into a rental. The house has a thin verandah full length at the rear. The road at the front is busy and I want to ensure the safety of "wombat" the cat. He is an outside cat so I still want him to be able to lie outside. I also have 3 Chihuahua's, 1 of which gives him a hard time, so he needs a safe zone. We have a small budget, so nothing too fancy. Maybe something attached to a window leading to a cage?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is there are reason you cant let your outside cat inside at night?

  Oh he can come and go any time he likes, through the doggie door. He often comes in day and night. But...... I dont want him jumping the fence and going under a car. Cats get all " out of whack" when they go to a new home. Often other cats already "own" the space and I need him to get used to the house and yard before he goes out on his own 😀

Does the house have any yard at all? If so, is it fenced? You can build "chunnels" like they do for chickens.
