Odor in leather coat

Send it to a leather cleaner. It will cost about $50, but will be worth it. (Most dry cleaners will send it to one for you.)

No you can’t get it out! My son had a coat that smelled like that and I tried everythin.

I bought a leather sofa and had same issue. Called manufacturer and they recommended damp wash cloth and a small amount of liquid dish soap and scrub, then clean damp cloth with fresh water to clean any soap residue. Worked! I had to do this a few times and spaced it out over a week so as to be sure the leather was truly dry. I also periodically purchase leather "wipes" in any grocery store. They are packaged like cleaning wipes for the kitchen. You shouldn't have to do that very often.

Tall to a dry cleaner that specializes in leather and find out if there is a deodorizer that they can apply to it to mask the odor.

Have you tried Febreeze? I don't know if it works o n leather, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Try packing it in an airtight box (think totes) with lots of newspapers inside the coat and layered on top and bottom. They tend to suck out smells. If not take it to the dry cleaner. Beware they charge a lot for leather and make you sign a release in case they ruin it. I always hold out until they send out coupons. Hahaha

if its a smooth leather try saddle soap its meant for saddles of course, but should get most of the nicotine tar off. wear gloves..you don't want a nicotine fix while cleaning it.

I'd take it to a drycleaner.That's what they do.

I would try stuffing it tightly with balled up newspapers and then in a cardboard box with more newspapers packed around it. Leave it for a week or so and the odor should be lessened. You could also put some dry coffee grounds in box to absorb more odor, just be sure they don't touch the jacket directly.

Send out to an authorized leather cleaner or go to a ranch, farm or saddle shop and get some saddle soap.

Have it professionally cleaned

You might try a dry cleaner that does leather.
