Hi Jeff, Here's a how to video that may help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOH5T3BgfEk&t=477s
Good luck!
turn off the water, drain it as well as possible, unscrew it from the floor and it should just lift off. Clean off the old wax seal, put on a new seal and carefully lower the new toilet onto the seal, then screw down. Its fairly simple
Easy peasy. 1. drain the tank. 2. clean as much water out of the bowl as possible. 3. put old towel into towel to absorb remaining water. 4. turn water off, if necessary to the entire house 5. remove nuts on the bolts, if they can't be removed, break porcelain around bolts. 6. place drop cloth on floor 7. lift toilet; place on drop cloth. 8. secure cloth around of toilet and dispose of toilet. 9. bolts will be attached to the flange. 10. scrap out all the wax and you will see that you can slip the bolts out of the flange. Remove. 11. your new toilet will have bolts and maybe even a wax ring. I do not use the wax ring included, but buy a better one.. 12. put in the new bolts and ring 13. seat toilet and press down to secure ring 14. use a level to make sure the toilet is level; once level secure nuts on bolts. 15. Finished!!
Check you tube and/or plumbing sites. If you find you don't want to do this. We recently had a new toiet installed for $350; well worth it as we have no plumbing skills.
Just want to say you do it, I installed mine at age 65, only problem lifting the toilet up, didn't expect the weight, but did it.
