If the room is large enough, you could build a closet into the room itself. It would be like a box in the corner or down one wall. If there is a window in the middle of the wall, you could build closets on each side with a bench in the middle for reading and storage. You could also buy an Armoire or a wardrobe which will give you closet space. This is what they do in Europe where many houses don't have closets. Wishing you the best.

People have used armoires or chifforobes (one side being a long space for hanging clothes and other side with drawers) for centuries in place of built-in closets. They come in an assortment of sizes that will accommodate most bedroom sizes.
an old TV Stand and a bar to hang shirts etc, paint, and command hooks....waa-lah. You got a new purpose for an old piece.
You can buy a rolling cart of drawers to put sweaters,tees, underwear, socks. If you have a door you can hang a bag that stores shoes or whatever you want. For hanging your clothes buy a rolling rack with a cover. Ikea has nice ones.
