Does anyone know how to get coffee stains out of mugs? They are the Tervis plastic mugs.

Actually baking soda should work here without scratching the plastic. The coffee stain is because of the oil in the bean.

Denture cleaner tablets ( from dollar store) are a good deep cleaner.

I've tried ever suggestion I've found on the internet. I bought a 240 pack of equate let set 30 min. then with no results tried it overnight. Coffee stains still reside. also used white vinegar and baking soda, that helped minimally but only the first time. Tried a paste of baking soda and lots of elbow grease with no results. I guess if I want to keep using the otherwise great Turvis I'll just have to buy a complete set and replace the old one's.

You can try a white vinegar and baking soda mixture to remove the stains!

I would suggest next contacting Tervis. They have some components to their satisfaction quality guarantee or they might have the perfect solution for you. Hope this helps.

I confess too, I have a Tommy Bahama Tervis set, they seem to be discoloring slightly with dishwasher use. Not very impressed with this product. Contiga is my personal favorite.

Tervis says they'll replace cups that develop a "film". Does anyone know if dried up old coffee stain film falls under this category?

I just wrote to Customer Service about a tumbler that was purchased last Christmas, but is badly stained. This gets used for coffee every third day or so, did not expect it to look so bad so soon. I tried white vinegar, baking soda, etc. already. We'll see what Customer Services and I'll post here. For starters, when you submit a request, it says "We try our very best to respond to all customer service inquiries within 2-3 days." That's unimpressive! I'd be fired if I took 2-3 days to call back my company's customers!

Feb 10, 2021 - I called Customer Service last year to talk about the film build up on my coffee mugs from Tervis. I hand wash them each day after use. Their comment was to use baking soda and either water or vinegar, which I had already tried, and informed them it did not clean them, even with a lot of elbow grease. Their next suggestion was to bundle them (I have three) and pay to send them back to Tervis and they would remove the inner lining and replace it.....But I have to pay, probably more for postage than what the mugs cost to begin with by the time you pay shipping both ways. They said they do not cover shipping charges. I have always loved Tervis, but something has gone wrong in the last few years and with this kind of customer service, there are other better choices out there, so I will NEVER buy another Tervis product, nor will I recommend them ......EVER! Very poor customer service.
