Looking for ideas on how to refinish a fold up table.
We use the table for camping and the top is peeling. It is used outdoors so I would like to refinish it so it stays nice for a long time. The table is 18" x 4'.
I think the map is a great idea. Paint the rest of the table a fun color and seal the entire thing!
Sometimes I stop myself from doing a project because I over-think it. So many possibilities, so many choices, right? So I do nothing because what if it doesn't come out and meet the highest expectations I imagined? Dumb, right? Yeah. Its only _________(a table, paint, a map, some glue, cardboard, some fabric, buttons, nails, tiles, etc, etc, etc. Do it, just do it, my friend. The idea is great, the map table is so creative and once you have that project under your belt, hurry and do another project. How about a centerpiece for holidays? Imagination is EVERYTHING!
Good plan! A project for after Christmas! Thank you. Now to find an appropriate manner!
I like your idea with using a map. You could also paint it to resemble a sun dial or maybe a clock. You could use that bottom shelf as a book case.

Such memories,we had tables like that when I was a kid! I spent hours playing like it was my doll house...each section was a room! With some clever painting and miniature furniture it would be perfect for a little girl.
Depending on what kind of theme you have, you could decorate to match the theme. Another idea, make it into a memory table by covering it with pictures & sealant. You could overlap some of the pictures with other pics just leaving enough room for the “memory“ to show.
Here’s a little table I did recently And you could do something like this with your little table. Painted with black chalk paint then draw out your check design. I used a thin 2 in. board for a straight edge. I mixed some brass and copper paint to fill in the checks and add in some details on the edges and legs. Turned out so cute!
Have fun!
1. Paint it all white, fasten a cake pedestal on top (also painted white), and use it to place books on in a circle.
2. Cover with doilies, (cloth or paper) and display your collections.
3. Use as a display for your CHRISTmas village at CHRISTmas time.
4. Use as a serving table.
How about scattering playing cards around around it, then shellacing it. You then have a card table.
Does the top piece unscrew from the bottom piece ?
